
For the grand inaugural ceremony of our 26th edition of NCU’s Inter-University Annual Techno-Cultural Festival “Momentum 2023”, a captivating performance was presented by NCU students on “Lambadi- Telangana Folk Dance” under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Club- A UGC Initiative on 3rd November, 2023 that truly represents the vibrant culture and talents within our college community. To celebrate the Bathukamma Festival, Bathukamma Lambadi dance was the major attraction and the team of 8 students performed. Bathukamma means “mother of life” or “mother live on” with bathuku meaning life and amma meaning mother. Lambadi dance is a folk dance of the Banjara tribe. Also known as the Banjara dance. It is a vibrant and energetic traditional dance form that holds a special place in the cultural heritage of the region. Lambadi dance is a captivating dance form that reflects the colorful and dynamic culture of the Lambadi community. Its rich symbolism, and connection to the community’s history makes it a significant part of the cultural tapestry of Telangana The event was coordinated by Dr Anshu and Dr Shrutimita Mehta.
